         'X' GOES X-rayx
         'M' GOES Magnetometer
         'P' GOES Electrons, Protons & Alpha particles.
	 'H' GOES HEPAD (High Energy Protons & Alpha particles.
   07 -> GOES-7, 91 = SMS-1, 92=SMS-2, etc.
    3 -> 3-second values
   YY -> year
   MM -> month

Full resolution GOES Space Environment Monitor data files are written
in FITS binary table format.  The format description and software
to unpack these data is contained in the "software" subdirectory.

The program titled sniff015.c is written in ANSI C, it's function
is to search the GOES FITS binary tables and translate a specified
time interval into a text table.  The sniff015.exe executable is
compiled for DOS, a.k.a. a console window.

The .txt files in the software directory are sample output from sniff015.c.
They contain the file headers which contain complete documentaion for 
the .FIT data files and the data that they contain.
